Club Officials 3

Robert Gibson

Director

I am privileged to have been a long-standing member of St Mellons Golf Club having joined in 1993. Having represented the club on the golf course whilst playing for the seconds, thirds and wayfarers it is now time for me to represent my fellow members as a director.

I feel that St Mellons Golf Club has one of the best layouts in South Wales and feel I can help to push this forward to achieving the best course in South Wales using my considerable experiences having ran my own company since 1989.

Club Officials 4

Nicholas Parkin

Director

I am married with 2 grown up children and I have been a member of St. Mellons Golf Club for over 15 years. I worked in the utility sector my entire working life and held several senior positions. During this time, I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience that I’m sure I can put to good use as a member of the management board.

Club Officials 5

Philip Crean

Mens Captain

I’m honoured to have been appointed as Men’s Captain for 2025, and I look forward to representing our fantastic club throughout the year ahead.

I joined St. Mellons Golf Club in 1997, and over the years I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the many highs (and a few lows!) that this great game brings. It’s been a privilege to be part of such a welcoming and well-regarded members’ club, and that’s thanks to the dedication of our Board, our Professional, and our outstanding grounds team.
Before retiring, I spent 33 years working in HM Customs & Excise. Away from the course, I’m a proud father of three and a very active grandfather to six energetic young grandchildren. When I get the chance, I enjoy walking and playing the guitar.

It’s a real privilege to take on the role of Captain, and I’m excited to support our members, uphold our club’s values, and help make 2025 a memorable year for us all.

Club Officials 6

Lizzie Brown

Lady Captain

I’ve been an active member of St. Mellons Golf Club since 2009, both as a full playing member and through my involvement on the Committee. It’s been a real pleasure to contribute to the club and be part of such a supportive golfing community.
I work full time as Assistant to the Chief Executive of a research and development company, a role I find both rewarding and varied. Outside of work, I’m a proud mum to two grown-up children and a doting grandmother to two lovely granddaughters.
I live close to the club with my partner Gill, and being part of such a vibrant club so nearby makes it all the more special.

I’m very much looking forward to the year ahead
and feel privileged to serve as your Ladies’ Captain for 2025
